19th Century Antique English Set of 3 Gold Framed Green Mat Black White Etchings

$1,260.00 /Item

Set of 3 finely composed Georgian etchings in their original frame by George Cuit (British, 1779–c.1840), all titled, signed and dated and showcases the artist’s mastery in architectural and landscape etchings, expressing all traits of romanticism.
Rendered with remarkable delicacy, the scene balances romantic ruin of cathedrals and castles with classical symmetry. Gothic arches overgrown with foliage and contemplative figures establishing dialogue between nature and built grandeur. The careful use of light and shadow gives depth and texture to the etching, inviting the viewer into a space both real and imagined.
Cuit, was known for his topographical road maps and etchings of historic British architecture, and his sensitive and precise depictions. These prints are a particularly evocative example of his work, blending historical interest with aesthetic refinement.
