A creator, entrepreneur, and visionary, Paolo Venini changed the landscape of Murano glass, transforming it into a symbol of excellence on the international scene. In October of 1921 Milanese lawyer Paolo Venini and Venetian antiquarian Giacomo Cappellin founded “Vetri Soffiati Cappellin Venini & C.” on the Murano Island, laying the foundations of the innovative stylistic identity, embracing avant garde, and mastering glassmaking techniques, like reticello and pulegoso... Venini took control of the company in 1925, which continued to the present day.
Throughout its rich history, its remarkable presence at the most important Biennale in Venice, many visionary designers have collaborated with Venini: Carlo Scarpa, Alessandro Mendini, Ettore Sottsass, Eugene Barman, Ken Scott, Banfi, Christian Spaltestein, Vico Magistretti, Peter Marino, and many more. Today the company still embodies exceptional craftsmanship, research, and design experimentation, always revolutionizing the world of glass.
