TONI ZUCCHERI 1936 - 2008
architect, designer, glassmaker

TONI ZUCCHERI FOR VENINI
Toni Zuccheri was an architect and studied with Ignazio Gardella, Carlo Scarpa and later, collaborated with Gio Ponti.
Creative and versatile, bursting with new ideas, he experimented with glass and developed Vetro Grosso, a new type of glass created from dense vitreous pastes combined with murrine, raw pigment, shards of Filigrana canes and fine wire mesh.
His first works with Venini were a representation of sophisticated animals and fantastic bird sculptures, a passion he inherited from his father who was an animal painter.
His creations are unique because of his extensive experimentation using innovative techniques mixing metal and glass.
His collaboration with Venini resulted in a special collection of unique objects with innovative shapes.

He also worked for VeArt and Barovier.
