Barovier Toso 1950s Italian Vintage Amber Gold Rostrato Murano Glass Vase / Bowl
An exquisite mid-20th century centerpiece by Barovier & Toso in blown whiskey gold Murano Art glass with Art Deco flair, hand decorated with the technique Rostrato: spikes of glass individually hand pulled in relief. Rostrato is a distinctive technique invented by Ercole Barovier as a way to enhance the glass luminosity while multiplying light reflections. The organic shape of this centerpiece is particularly interesting so that it can be used as a bowl and as a flower vase. Diameter opening 6.75 in.
This piece was chosen by Jennifer Cohler of J Cohler Mason Design to be displayed at the 2019 Kips Bay Decorator Show House.
